Lies Beneath the Ocean Waves

This is at least the third Friday this month that I've started a new project:

P1060051

I'm 3/4 done with the legs, which is a pretty good start. The yarn is Cascade 220 from Renaissance Yarns (leap day sale + gift card = no guilt). The pattern is Octopus (Ravelry Link) by Hansi Singh and you can find it (and other very cute patterns) on Hansi's Etsy site. I saw this pattern for the first time yesterday, and as I am incapable of independent thought, and I have maybe five friends expecting babies, I now have six tentacles. The pattern is very detailed and has great instructional photos--I'm very impressed with it and I've enjoyed the knitting so far, too. More legs to follow!

Knitted toys are so cool! Going to have to give that a try - sometimes they're just good to have around for baby showers and such.

Every time I see someone making one of those octopuses it makes me smile. So cute! Great colors!

See, I thought the sister was crazy for knitting this . . . but apparently she has found a soul mate. Lola wasn't kidding when she said her house would be covered with them in a week or so . . . she found them that addictive.
